Interdisciplinary in all four STEM fields:

  • Science - a Life Science data analyst and a Computer Scientist;
  • Technology - working both on tech and biotech applications;
  • Engineering - developing new models and systems;
  • Mathematics - because it all started with her love for math.

 

Jasminka Hasic Telalovic graduated with B.Sc. degree in Interdisciplinary Mathematics with Computer Science from the University of Hampshire, NH, USA. Her M.Sc. is in Computer Science from Brown University, RI, USA and her Ph.D. is in Engineering from Warwick University, UK.

She is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Computer Graphics, and Algorithms.

She first started working in IT industry as an intern in second year of university (1995) and has assumed different STEM roles both in academia and industry since.

She is an inspiration and strong advocate for increasing the participation and representation of girls and women from the Western Balkans in STEM.

What attracted her to STEM and her message to young girls

My love and interest in mathematics and the kick that I get after solving problems!
