There are many opportunities, supporting organisations and programs available for startups in the Western Balkans. However, in most cases, it is hard to find reliable sources to get the most of such opportunities.
The booklet will help navigate opportunities available for the region's innovators and technology-based startups.
It illustrates how the EIT supports all three stages of startups' development with local accelerators, incubators and universities.
Access 2 funding knowledge and European networks for entrepreneurs
The booklet offers an insight into several types of existing opportunities for startups from the Western Balkans.
First, there is the EIT Jumpstarter. It is a pre-acceleration program which helps to transform innovative project ideas into validated startups.
In addition, the report introduces 15 EIT communities Accelerator programs. These programmes cover various industries and offer different types of support.
Under regional opportunities the report features the EBRD Star Venture Program and South Central Ventures.
The sixth section presents the existing opportunities in Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. Unfortunately, the existing programmes in the remaining three Western Balkan economies have not been featured.
Finally, we see all existing the EIT's Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). KICs have been created to support innovative solutions that tackle key challenges of our time and accelerate them to reach the market.
