Horizon Europe - A Brief Guide for NCPs
Horizon Europe: A Brief Guide for NCPs (National Contact Points) is a new document published by the Regional Cooperation Council.
Its purpose is to assist the Western Balkans' NCPs understand better the EU’s research and innovation €95.5 billion programme.
It offers a clear and concise overview of Horizon Europe's structure. Also, it presents the strategic guidelines and programme objectives, and an overview of the allocated budget.
The guide concisely explains new concepts of EU Missions and EU Partnerships.
The booklet presents the simplified Rules of Participation and Implementation of Actions in Horizon Europe. This may be particularly interesting to NCPs.
NCPs in Horizon Europe
The publication will be useful to both, the region's NCPs and researchers, innovators and businesses. in the field of Research & Innovation (R&I) since it comes at the very beginning of Horizon Europe's implementation.
Researchers, innovators and businesses from the Western Balkans now fully participate in Horizon Europe, as other entities from the EU. They will get a chance to develop innovative projects and new technologies that will contribute to tackling global challenges.
NCPs - as representatives of their economies - will join governance structures implementing the programme. In addition, NCPs can now participate as observers in the Joint Research Centre Board of Governors and their National Contact Points (NCPs) are fully included in all activities of the NCPs network.
It aims to facilitate WB researchers’ assigned roles and enable them to perform their NCP tasks with the ultimate goal of providing high-quality services to the R&I community in the WB.
Finally, researchers and scientists unfamiliar with the EU's research and innovation programmes could find the Guide very useful.
