If you’re a PhD student or a Postdoc whose doctorate was awarded within the last seven years, this scheme is tailor-made for you. 

What is the Western Balkans Mobility Scheme? 

The Western Balkans Mobility Scheme is a part of the POLICY ANSWERS Pilot Programme. It aims to encourage regional cooperation and support research and innovation (R&I) across the Western Balkans. By participating, you will be part of a dynamic network driving positive change in the region.

The initiative covers broad research areas ranging from social sciences and humanities to arts-based research. Essentially, all thematic fields are eligible. 

The scheme is particularly interested in projects addressing the twin transition—green and digital—within the Western Balkans. 

What’s in it for You?

• Funding for Research Mobility: The scheme is funding mobility projects exclusively in the field of research. Imagine collaborating with experts, exploring new ideas, and contributing to cutting-edge discoveries.
• Physical Presence Matters: Your presence at a research infrastructure (RI) in the Western Balkans is essential. Dive into hands-on research, connect with fellow scholars, and make lasting impact.
• Flexible Project Duration: Whether it is a two-week exploration or a six-month deep dive, the scheme covers it all. Note that multiple visits to the same RI are allowed too.
