The fifth edition of the Mediterranean Machine Learning Summer School (M2L) will take place from September 8th to 12th, 2025, in the picturesque city of Split, Croatia. This prestigious event will gather world-leading experts, innovative researchers, and ambitious young talents in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for five days of knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking.

Organized by a dedicated team of Google DeepMind scientists in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture (FESB) at the University of Split, M2L 2025 is a volunteer-driven initiative designed to provide a unique platform for both emerging researchers and experienced professionals to explore the latest advancements in AI and ML.

The Mediterranean Machine Learning Summer School (M2L) 2025 will be held at FESB in Split, a city poised to hold the title of EU Ambassador for Science in 2026 and renowned as a vibrant hub of innovation, sports, and arts. M2L, an entirely volunteer-driven initiative led by researchers, offers a unique platform for fostering collaboration between young researchers and established experts, aimed at training the next generation of AI leaders. The five-day program features high-quality lectures, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities with prominent international speakers from both academia and industry, providing participants with access to cutting-edge knowledge, skills, and connections within this highly dynamic research community.

M2L 2025 welcomes applications from:

• Master’s and PhD students
• Early-career researchers
• Industry professionals with experience in machine learning and deep learning

Participation in M2L 2025 is free of charge for students, while a moderate registration fee applies to participants from academia and industry. Additionally, a limited number of need-based scholarships are available to support those who may face financial barriers.
